9

A million.
Remember when that was the biggest number we knew?
So we'd make up other figures
A gazillion -
Dollars, years. Size.
We've always wanted to be bigger - stronger.
More than human.

A million minutes -
Sounds like a lot doesn't it?
Roughly 694 days, short of two years
A virtual lifetime
Millions of births, deaths
Heartbreaks - dreams
Who dreams in these modern times?

A million words
One conversation
Spanning a lie-ftime
(Pardon my grammar)
But who tells the truth anymore?
Well the whole truth - Like they say in court, nothing but the truth

A million sweet nothings
Eventualy the façade falls
The painful truth of lies comes out
Cliché no?

So new beginnings
Begg-ing to be understood
As a man.
Imperfect, but trying.
Making the million mile trod.
Alone.
